Review:

Three years ago Narrow Pass released their debut album entitled A Room Of Fairy Queen’s, I ended my review with: “This is a very pleasant and melodic CD that will delight the fans of 70-77 Genesis, Hackett solo and neo-prog like IQ and Pendragon”.

Well, on this new album (around one hour) Narrow Pass still makes 76-77 Genesis inspired symphonic rock that sounds pleasant and melodic. Most of the seven tracks deliver flowing shifting moods featuring a tasteful colouring (from acoustic – and classical guitar to flute, saxophone and violin), moving electric guitar work, varied keyboard work (from tender Grand piano to exciting solos on synthesizer and organ) and a wonderful female voice (along some male vocals). A very special and beautiful song is the folky Silver Lady with Gaelic vocals, instruments like a violin, Irish bodhran, tin-whistle and the use of two Irish speakers. -

I am sure this wonderful new album will please many symphomaniacs, fortunately Narrow Pass didn’t turn into another new and promising one-shot Italian progrock band!
