The Review

They were one of the better bands of the hair metal era and still remain one of the strongest staples in melodic hard rock to this day. Having formed in the late eighties by Greg Giuffria (absent from this recording) and Chuck Wright under the wing of Gene Simmons, the band went through numerous lineup & label switchovers and all the music business and scene changes, but they weathered it all, still persevering to this day. ***

Celebrating an entire show that was recorded at Firefest in Nottingham, England, House of Lords run through classics as well as newer material during the performance. Well known songs like "Chains of Love," the ballad "Love Don't Lie," "Mind Trip," and their cover of "Can't Find My Way Back Home" are performed in the set; there is also a studio track, the dark & mystical "Havana," which was originally released on the Japanese version of The Power and The Myth. ***

The performance is tight; you can tell James Christian still gets into to it after all this time & the guitar work of Lanny Cordola is phenomenal. Live in the UK is a testament to the presence of one of melodic rock's most enduring bands.***
